Position Description

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Epic Orders and Clinical Documentation Application Analyst in the Chicago, IL area. In this position you will be responsible for supporting the Epic Orders and Clinical Documentation System in production. The Epic Orders team is responsible for order entry into Epic (CPOE), order sets development, order transmittal rules and order resulting. Application has tight integration with the MAR and pharmacy systems. Position also requires coordination and communication with interface and ancillary systems teams.

Responsibilities
  • Implementing seasonal upgrades and continuing to optimize the system based on the business needs.
  • Ensure system changes follow the change management procedures and build documentation is accurate.
  • Continuing to optimize the system based on the business needs.
  • Maintain communication with hospital users, business partners and vendors.
  • On call support.
  • Fixing system defects.
  • Liaison between all project stakeholders.
Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in health information management, business or computer related major or two year degree and equivalent experience in application implementation and support.
  • Technically competent: Office equipment.
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience as technical application support staff including implementation, support, report writing, trouble shooting, upgrades, and customizing/configuring systems to business needs OR minimum of 3 years progressive experience in health information management in project management.
  • Experience with multiple Healthcare applications, computer languages, databases, operating systems, and hardware platforms.
  • Epic Inpatient certification a plus.
  • Comprehensive documentation and technical writing skills including support documentation, trouble shooting guides, OLA’s, project documentation, flow diagrams, application specifications, and functional requirements.
  • Strong team player with good oral and written communication skills including knowledge transfers, conflict management, issue escalation, expectation management, and translation of business needs into technical requirements.
