Position Description

We are currently recruiting for a full-time Epic Ambulatory Application Coordinator in the Los Angeles, CA area. In this position you will be responsible for the maintenance and enhancement of the Epic Ambulatory Module. The Application Coordinators are the primary support contacts and coordinate all questions and issues that arise during the project for their application area. Your experience implementing the EpicCare Ambulatory application including design, build, training, implementation and go-live support will make you the right person for this job. Our client will pay relocation expenses.

Responsibilities
  • Assist to identify and resolve system issues which have an enterprise-wide impact on the project.
  • Frequently review the project plan status with the team and identify ways to make necessary improvements to accomplish work in the most efficient and effective methods
  • Make business and clinical process enhancement recommendations.
  • Establishing change control procedures for the system.
  • Populating databases for which they are the owner during the initial system build, with assistance from Epic staff.
  • Troubleshooting problems or questions from users.
  • Prioritizing and implementing changes requested for the system.
  • Coordinating software updates and changes with users.
  • Thoroughly reviewing and testing each new release and communicating needed changes to Epic before users are permitted to access the new release.
  • Working with users on the sharing of data, category lists, etc.
  • Setting standards for naming and numbering conventions and security classifications.
  • Investigating the preferred choices of the users.
  • Analyzing data conversion needs.
  • Preparing details of specifications as needed.
  • Developing and documenting internal procedures.
Experience
  • Clinical experience, such as RN
  • Minimum of 3 years progressive experience as technical application support staff including implementation, support, report writing, trouble shooting, upgrades, and customizing/configuring systems to business needs OR minimum of 3 years progressive experience in health information management in project management.
  • Epic Ambulatory Certification
  • Understanding of Hospital workflow
  • Experience with multiple Healthcare applications, computer languages, databases, operating systems, and hardware platforms a plus
  • Must have full-cycle implementation experience
  • Excellent communication skills
